Yep, bikes in one. General DIY stuff in the other. Mrs CW loved the idea of beach huts.

Crikey, I haven't updated this thread for a while. Well, I have been working on it all this time, but very slowly due to my back getting worse so I can't really move enough to do all the necessary bending down until the middle of the day. Plus ofcourse weather etc and a whole multitude of other excuses. But hey' we got there in the end...

So I left the thread with the framework being complete and the large water butt in place.

The next job was to put the decking boards down, which took a loooooong time thanks to my knackered back, the faithful feline 'helper' and the stupid person who decided on laying them at a 45 degree angle - meaning at least two cuts on every single flippin' board!

While doing all that, I also connected up the drainpipes to the water butt, but didn't take any photos.

And then fast (haha!) forward to today when the final boards went down!

And then before the light faded, I managed to get a couple of the hanging troughs made and fitted. These should be suitable for growing things like strawberries and can easily be covered over by netting to keep the birds off.

So thankfully the deck itself is finished, but there are still a few jobs to do:

1) Re-fit the downpipe to the fence side of the cabin and take a feed off it into the old water butts to be stood on the deck in that corner and connected together.
2) Finish all the hanging troughs - another 10 at least for the other side.
3) Clean the deck down as it's a right mess from my muddy feet.
4) Line the planters and toughs and fill with soil.
5) Buy and install a solar irrigation system in time for the spring.
6) Make a removable polycarb 'lid' for both the large planters in time for the spring.

Then, then I can move onto the rest of house and everything else that needs doing...

I love that cats are so helpful when you’re doing anything outdoors.
