You might even get a few bob back if you put the add-ons on eBay. Those alloys must be worth something.

Some interesting lots coming up at Anglican Car Auctions next weekend. Wish I had the space and money for a few of them.

Also bought this little TDi Polo that I've known for years. Been after it too due to the colour combo and the very unique interior....heated sports oatmeal leather.
And....another Alfa 145 1.8TS in black with black Momo leather so I can make one very good black 145 and one decent black 145 out of the two.

Has the Polo had a nudge? Headlight looks a bit skew-whiff.

Had a bump...I stuck the panel lamps on it and it went back into shape, also replaced the damaged grill.

I now have Strawms old Alfa GT back due to the cost of recent MOT failure rectification. Toning down the motor after a heavy remap, drop links all round, front upper arms (which on these and similar chassis Alfa are a bastard as they are designed to be built prior to installing/marrying the subframe to body in production...hence the removal of the front suspension in order to remove two stupidly long bolts.) Three new tyres, paint correction, full service including flush and DPF clean.
TBH it's had more than the value of the car done to it now so I'll have to write off the labour (which my mate and I did as he owed me for doing his DPF/Vaporiser/EGR issues on his Transit connect.) for it to make sense.
I wouldn't have bothered apart from a mate who agreed to cover the costs and then backed out at the last minute.
But...all done and running so it's now the latest loaner.

And in that vein, I have I think settled on a decision.

I have looked at a few RS4s but aligning the stars so that they have all the options I want in the right colour with the rig BTT mileage and a good service history is proving hard. And I’ve been looking for almost a month, which is totally, like, a lifetime!

Next week I am going to try to negotiate the purchase of a Panamera.

Out of interest, why?

My only concern today is the range and current infrastructure. Fix both of those and I'm happy to go full electric for all future cars.

I love them, the new shape or the old one (which strike me as a massive bargain)

Wellll ... I can’t think of one that I actually like the look of. I kind of see the utility of having one as a city car, but I wouldn’t want an electric city car as my only car, so it’s quite a luxury to have a car specifically for city driving, plus a supermini will do 60 odd to the gallon and get the same job done. And charging isn’t easy for the bulk of London housing stock which doesn’t have off street parking, and if you do have OSP you need a power point.

We have a lot of trips to York and Durham in our future so range is important.

I see them as a good idea which isn’t yet mature enough for general use.

I had a long hard look at that one. And I mean hard.

Unfortch as Doots will spit I am a bit of a low mileage addict. But the pull of the V8 was a big counterweight. Plus that one has a lot of toys on it - plenty more than mine.

Have you driven one? I had a short drive and was really impressed. Really impressed.

Not my cup of tea at all but I can understand your choice. Personally if I was after a reasonably quick, large ish car I'd take a Tesla model S over the panamera every time but I can understand your arguments against electric.

Also my opinion is irrelevant because both are way out of budget. If I'm lucky I'll sort out my S4 and get a new van in the next 12 months.

It is for a Porsche.
It's just getting to that difficult time where all the parts made of chocolate and hope, and not covered by the extensive warranty, start to fail.
