I did look into that a while back ad the panels were over $4k before shipping, import tax etc.

Shame as it's les tits and I love it.

Wheels are better on the original racers though:

Make the panels yourself. It’s only fibreglass, then carbon fibre isn’t any harder, then you might as well do them from Kevlar and pre-preg carbon fibre.

Hmmm, yes, but no.

I do love the Group 44 cars (the XJS looks fantastic too), but I'd rather spend the ££ on the engine.

Plus, I like the period look of it now (not my pics, taken whilst racing and kindly sent to me)

On that ^^ pic, there's a dent on the nose where some woman sat on it to have a photo taken, came back to the car in the pits to find her sprawled over it. Didn't notice it until later, popped out with no effort thankfully.

Incidentally, I have plans to be racing something else in the next year or so - lots of things have to fall into place first so I'm not going to spend loads of cash on this in the short term.

Retropower announced a few weeks ago that they were going to be doing an XLS project and invited suggestions from their Facebook followers. Naturally I suggested side exhausts:

And ofcourse, Group 44 were partial to a quackers back end too:

Listen up men! Also you Span.

Right, this little monkey is up for sale (including a massive spare package, 3 sets of wheels, trailer, spare shell etc)

It's fcuking ace and I still 100% love it, but there's a chance I can get something astounding to replace it with - so it has to go.

It's still MOT'd and road legal, so not just for competition purposes.

I'm keeping quiet on the other thing in case it doesn't come off, but if you are interested in the the TR, PM me - naturally for a CTF'er I'll do a good deal.

When you say “astounding” my mind goes straight to F1, or an Austin Allegro once owned by Leslie Crowther. Hope I’m right.

Hmmm, not really no.

Anyway, I'm only really selling to keep 'er indoors 'appy - if my plans don't work out, I'll happily be keeping it.

I thoroughly recommend the driving of a racer on the road and am presuming that Deutz has been put in a similar position to myself, someone go check his land for greenhouses/shipping containers.
That could be the only plausible explanation to sell.

:D

Nothing as dramatic as that.

In a nutshell I work in London but live in the Cotswolds, as such I spend a lot in commuting to London daily.

If (and it's a VERY big if) my work decide to continue the WFH into the future regardless of C19 then my situation will change. I'll do far, far less miles on the car (driving to the station) and spend a lot less on trains (my monthly ticket is getting on for a grand)

So, I won't need the RS4 as a daily and can happily justify spending a big chuck of cash on something else.

My wife is fine with all of this and even the massive outlay on a supercar or a super GT, but she feels that racing takes too much time (but really she worries that I'm going to get killed). So, as part of the bargain with her, the TR7 has to go.

I'll still do the occasional event, but in something else, probably share a drive with a mate.

But... if it all doesn't come off then I'm fine with that also - I'll keep the RS4 and the TR7 and it'll be happy days :)

Can't you do a thread and we get to choose your next car, with the imaginary budget ?

Actually on that note, I was going to do something similar as in my browsing of potential cars I've spotted what I consider to be the best super GT bargain of all time.

I'll do it later.

Greggers so enfeebled after his last bout of cold covid19 that he can't depress the clutch so he's letting the AM go for a song?

I was going to guess Merc SLS, but they're still £125k+

When you look at that next to a £24k DB9, it doesn't look great value.

Brilliant race at the weekend, came fourth in class out of 15 (based on handicap) and third in class based on outright time (only 0.26 seconds behind a 911 GT3) - so VERY pleased with that!

Second best time ever, 50.43 which is pleasing as it was the first outing for the (very) short season and the weather and track conditions were far from optimal.

Going to get into the 49's very soon, I can feel it!
