What was the last film you watched?

Some things cultured but mostly films and telly stuff.

Raw. 2016, French with subtitles.

Disturbing, with some genuinely unpleasant scenes.

That is a mighty bold claim.

I'll have to watch it to see if you are correct

I watched half of Rear Window yesterday, and then all of The Neolith this morning.

I've never seen RW before and thought I knew what I was in for, because how can you not know what you're in for with a 70 year old classic of cinema? But it caught and held my attention fully and James Stewart is the actual bomb.

It didn't hold my attention fully enough that I watched it all, clearly. But I'd run out of ironing and decided to go for a walk. I'll come back to it though, as it's Plussed.

The Neolith is on Vimeo and is a 30 minute short that reminded me of Valhalla Rising (the longest film where nothing happens, violently, that I've ever tried to watch). TN it's garnering similarly positive reviews to VR, but although it looks phenomenally excellent I was left a bit nonplussed by the seeming lack of anything going on beyond the superficial events of two groups of people killing each other in "ancient times".

A lady sang a song without any words though, on a hillside. And I think that was quite the highlight.

RW is one of the best films of all time. I love every single thing about it.

I was/am loving it too, and will return to complete my opinion when I've watched the rest.

I watched The Hunt this morning, the film that had America's knickers in a twist before anyone had actually watched it. The film that Trump tweeted bad about without seeing it.

And it's terrific. A huge stupid pile of gleefully violent fun, pretending to have a "bygones" anti-internet echo bubbles agenda, but instead just laughing as it slaughters in turn each character you think is going to be the protagonist.

And the eventual actual protagonist is great. Resourceful and dry and snippy while displaying brutal capability.

The film looks great too, in an unshowy way, and made me laugh a few times. It reminded me a little in tone of The Babysitter, another film which absolutely reveled in being violently horrible to its characters and then cackling while they gurgle to death.

Ace. I mean rubbish, obviously. But ace.

Agree Damo.
Utterly rubbish but ace is a good way of putting it.
