CTF Watches Thread. And pens, lighters ...

Post by Freddie @ Sat Apr 23, 2011 8:41 am

Following on from OTVs post I thought it was time for an un/official CTF Watch thread. So here is OTVs post:

Obey The Voices wrote:The tragic thing is that my real "habit" is fountain pens.

However, here are a few of my watches from more recognised makers...

So, what watch do you wear, obsess about, are waiting for or own? Post your replies here.

Vintage Seamaster is lovely, but the Mk1 Speedie every time. Never "got" the digital/analogue Breitlings but I like vintage/classic watches very much.

Three of mine.

I have not seen any of those Lancia models before. I rather like that look!

Today I shall be wearing a Seiko Kinetic "Ventura".

Cool watch OTV.

Lancia time today. All I need now is a Lancia D50.

An Omega Seamaster like this one that I bought myself for my 21st, but with the blue face instead that seems curiously difficult to find a picture of.

I also have an engraved Volvo watch that I have never worn. I'll add my own pics later when I've a more useful camera to hand than an iPhone.

It's my son's 21st birthday soon, want to get him a watch.

These are some that I've been scratching my chin wrist over:-

Image
Armani Exchange AX1039 Stainless Steel Chronograph Bracelet Watch

Image
Gc Sport Chic Black and Rose Gold

Image
Citizen Men's Promaster SST Chronograph

Image
Citizen Calibre 8700

Image
Nixon Ceramic 51-30

Image
Nixon 42-20

Image
Guess Rose 47003L2

Image
SEIKO VELATURA YACHTING WATCH SRH006P1

As 21st birthday presents go, what do you think? Citizen seem good value but I wonder if as a brand it's cool enough. Same with Seiko I suppose

All a bit bling (which is great if that is what he likes and will continue to like - a 21st watch from a parent is a significant gift). Seiko and Citizen may not have the apparent cachet of some of those you listed but in terms of the watch aficionado they are better regarded as barring any catastrophe, they will still be running in 20 years time (and will be easily serviceable).

Sometimes less is more.

An appealing little collection, nice box too. I'd probably bum you for the one on the right, assuming it's kosher.

Nice isn't it?

I'll need to get the others out the safe and take some pictures.

Ahh. I rather like the idea of the fountain pen sandwich. FP, Propelling Pencil and Ballpoint.
