BBC banned over Brand
The entire BBC is to be banned over the now-infamous Brand phone prank, it was revealed today.
The big switch-off for the BBC will happen sometime in November after 27,000 people living in the district of Outraged, Tunbridge Wells complained despite not having heard the broadcast.
‘I don’t know what was said but I think it’s disgraceful. They should bring back National Service,’ blustered a resident of Outraged today. The neighbouring towns of Over-Reaction on Twee and Lack-of-Perspective said they were delighted that something had finally been done, though didn’t specify about what.
The rest of the country breathed a collective sigh of relief at the news that Russell Brand has resigned from Radio 2 even as they fervently hoped he would also resign from the human race and take his booky wook with him. The suspension of Jonathan Ross has provided a temporary vacancy in the world of crass interviewing which will shortly be filled by Jade Goody.
A discount of 2.5% will be applied to the TV licence fees to compensate disappointed viewers of Strictly Come Dancing.
