The price of rat meat in Cambodia has quadrupled this year.  In India a state government encouraged people to eat rats to conserve grain stocks.  Rats are also eaten widely in Thailand. ‘Children are making money selling them to markets,’ said an agricultural official.

An Ohio man has put down an $8000 payment on a car in small change because he distrusts banks and paper money.  Staff spent 90 minutes counting the change, which was produced in a series of containers. ‘He’s pretty tight with his money,’ said the man’s son.
